JEDDAH — Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah said that Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen collective work and cooperation in empowering culture as one of the key pillars in achieving social and economic development.
He made the remarks while inaugurating the 13th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jeddah on Wednesday. The conference, with the theme of "The impact of culture on social and economic development" is being hosted by Saudi Arabia, in cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
In his speech, Prince Badr emphasized the Kingdom’s pride in presiding over the 13th session of the conference. "Saudi Arabia realizes the importance of culture as an essential foundation in building communities, enhancing national identity, and driving economic and social growth. Based on this, the Kingdom supports the efforts of the organization to empower intellectuals and writers from Islamic countries by enhancing their participation in various cultural events, conferences, and research projects within the Kingdom," the prince said.
The Kingdom assumed the presidency of the 13th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World 2025.
