RIYADH —
Since its establishment last Thursday, Saudi Arabia’s newly formed Department for Community Security and Combating Human Trafficking Crimes has carried out several operations in coordination with the General Directorate of Public Security.

In the latest operation, Riyadh Police and the Community Security Department arrested 14 expatriates for violating anti-human trafficking laws. Authorities took legal action against the suspects while also providing humanitarian services to the exploited children.

On the department’s first days of operation, three expat women were arrested in a Riyadh hotel for engaging in prostitution. In a separate case on the same day, the Department, in collaboration with Jeddah Police, detained five expats at a relaxation and body care center for violating public morals.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the department's primary mission is to combat crimes that infringe on personal rights, human dignity, and basic freedoms as outlined in Shariah law. It also focuses on dismantling criminal networks and working with regional and international authorities to eliminate illicit activities.
