RIYADH — Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri, chairman of the Saudi National Transformation Program Committee and vice chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Development Fund, emphasized that not a single day has passed in Saudi Arabia over the past 9 years without scoring an achievement. He called on the media system in the country to exert more efforts and innovation to simplify in disseminating among the public the essence of the transformation that the Kingdom is experiencing.

Al-Tuwaijri made the remarks while addressing the fourth edition of the Saudi Media Forum in Riyadh on Thursday. Speaking at a session titled “The Media dimension of the economic policies of the Kingdom’s Vision: Transformation to achieve a global vision,” Al-Tuwaijri stressed that the real energy of Saudi Arabia is its young men and women, and that media work is an art that can contribute to this journey that the Kingdom is taking towards the future. "The main issue in Saudi Vision 2030 is that there is a transformation that affects the oil and non-oil sectors, with the same level of importance and feasibility, and what is required of the media sector individuals and institutions is to keep pace with this transformation in an integrated and innovative way, by touching the essence of this rare story, and simplifying its journey for all groups, including citizens, investors, and others looking to learn about Saudi Arabia," he said.

The session discussed the importance of media in supporting the economic policies of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and its role in highlighting ambitious economic transformations and enhancing Saudi Arabia's attractiveness to global investments.

Al-Tuwaijri described the National Transformation Program as huge, saying that it brings together ministries working in multiple specializations. “Those working in the media aspect of the Vision have begun working on an annual theme to measure the tangible impact of the program in reality, and that there are many Saudi stories in which the impact of the initiatives launched by the program is clear: The scope is wide and open for media innovation in telling the story of Saudi Arabia."

He stressed the importance of partnership with the media in the journey of national transformation, in light of the change the world is witnessing, which, in turn, requires an effort to keep pace and respond consciously from the part of the media.

The media enjoys great fluidity and is full of multiple viewpoints and ideas, Al-Tuwaijri said while emphasizing that what matters is the result and achieving an impact on the recipient. "This is a main principle established by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in his daily work, and is based on three things: achievement, institutional work, and follow-up. Everything that is happening today is what can be called storytelling, and despite much that has been presented during the previous period, the story of Saudi Arabia has not yet been told, and it requires more partnership and work to reach the desired goals,” he said.

Al-Tuwaijri highlighted the importance of digital media at this stage of Saudi Arabia's journey, and considered it as a valuable opportunity to deliver the media message, with the need to understand the mechanism of building content in a fast and striking way, noting that all Saudi entities are convinced of the value of digital transformation.

Al-Tuwaijri emphasized that the design of the Vision helps enhance the value of transformation that lies at its core. He urged the media sector to continue conducting discussions about the story of the nation and its transformation towards the future.
