RIYADH
— In an exciting moment of pride for Saudi Arabia, the largest Saudi Ardah, which was performed as part of the Kingdom’s Founding Day celebrations, was officially recognized by Guinness World Records.

The event, which took place at Al-Adl Plaza in Riyadh on Sunday, attracted over 50,000 visitors, marking the conclusion of a four-day celebration from February 20 to 23.

The standout moment of the celebration was the Ardah, a traditional folk dance that saw 633 performers come together, making it the largest performance of its kind ever recorded. This achievement underscores the Ardah’s importance as a cultural symbol of national pride and heritage. The performance not only honored Saudi traditions but also highlighted the country’s rich history, showcasing it to a global audience.

Alongside the Ardah, the celebrations included a heritage exhibition, where visitors could explore Saudi Arabia’s history through photos, documents, and visual displays. The exhibition focused on the Kingdom’s early foundations, including the leadership of Imam Muhammad bin Saud, who established the Saudi state in 1139 AH. It also showcased the nation’s significant milestones and achievements under the reigns of various kings and leaders.

Founding Day, observed every year on February 22, commemorates the birth of Saudi Arabia. In 2022, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman declared the day a national holiday to honor the historic moment when Imam Muhammad bin Saud held power in Diriyah. The celebration is not only an indication of the past but also a reminder of the Kingdom's remarkable growth and development over the years.

The festivities also included an interactive time travel experience, where visitors could virtually journey through the stages of Saudi Arabia’s founding. This provided a unique and engaging way for people to connect with the Kingdom’s history.

The Guinness World Record for the largest Saudi Ardah is a testament to the Kingdom’s commitment to preserving and celebrating its cultural heritage. As Saudi Arabia continues to evolve, moments like this highlight the country's pride in its history and bright future ahead.
