WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump on Monday commended Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, describing him as a “wonderful man” with a “great vision” for the future.

Speaking at a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in Washington, Trump highlighted his personal admiration for the Saudi leader and the Kingdom’s role in global affairs.

“We met with him, and I think he’s a wonderful man with a great vision,” Trump said. “He’s implementing the King’s vision, and I am a friend to both of them.”

Trump also praised the recent high-level talks between US and Russian delegations in Saudi Arabia, calling them “wonderful.”

When asked about the possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin visiting Saudi Arabia, even without a resolution to the Ukraine conflict, Trump expressed optimism about the Kingdom’s growing role in international diplomacy.
