Saudi Gazette report

LONDON —
Saudia has announced the suspension of all flights to and from London Heathrow Airport until further notice, following a major power outage caused by a fire at a substation supplying electricity to the airport.

The airline confirmed it is closely monitoring the situation with Heathrow authorities and is in direct communication with affected passengers to keep them informed of any updates.

In a statement published on its official account on X, Saudia urged travelers currently in London not to head to Heathrow Airport, and advised transit passengers to avoid traveling to Jeddah and Riyadh airports until further notice.

Passengers were told to await updates via SMS and email notifications.

Given the unexpected nature of the incident, Saudia has announced that all tickets will be exempt from any change fees or restrictions, whether for rebooking or refunds.
