ALBAHA — Al Baha is one of the most beautiful natural destinations, attracting nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts year-round. This is due to its unique location on the Sarawat Mountains, which rise approximately 2,500 meters above sea level.
The region boasts a fascinating terrain that combines deep valleys, towering mountains, and dense forests, creating a breathtaking natural landscape that captivates the heart.
The Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture branch in Al-Baha region, Eng. Fahd Al-Zahrani, explained that the branch had previously launched a project focused on agricultural terraces in the region.
The number of farms benefiting from the project in the preliminary phase reached 18 farms, while the number in the first phase reached 118 farms. The number of farms benefiting in the second phase reached 171 farms, and in the third phase it reached 48 farms, bringing the total to 355 farms.
Al Baha's valleys distinguished by their natural scenery, nestled between green mountains and cascading waterfalls, providing an ideal environment for nature lovers. Visitors can enjoy strolling along designated walking and hiking trails, as the region abounds with valleys that constitute a haven for exploration and adventure enthusiasts.
Among the most prominent valleys in Al Baha are the Al-Ahsabah Valley, south of Al Makhwah, which transforms into a unique winter park with its flowing waters; the Dhark Valley in Al Mandaq Governorate, which becomes a natural wonder with its cascading waterfalls; the Bida Valley, which is rich in water, agricultural terraces, and pomegranate orchards; and the Al Hamdah Valley, famous for its streams and waterfalls cascading from the mountain slopes.
Visitors can explore traditional villages and archaeological sites, and learn about the region's heritage and authentic customs. These valleys are an ideal destination that combines adventure and cultural exploration, enhancing Al Baha's position as one of Saudi Arabia's most prominent tourist destinations.
