JEDDAH — Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman received King Abdullah II of Jordan in Jeddah on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the close ties between the two countries and discussed ways to enhance cooperation across various fields. They also exchanged views on key developments in the Arab and Islamic worlds and addressed regional issues, particularly those related to the security and stability of the Middle East.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and National Security Advisor Musaed Al-Aiban. Jordanian Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II also attended the meeting.

King Abdullah expressed pride in the historical relations between Saudi Arabia and Jordan during his meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince, according to Jordan's Petra news agency. The two leaders discussed recent developments in the region, especially the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, Petra pointed out.

Following the meeting, King Abdullah and his accompanying delegation departed King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. He was seen off by Deputy Emir of Makkah Prince Saud bin Mishaal and a number of senior officials.
