Saudi Arabia, Bahrain bolster security ties at fourth Security Coordination Committee meeting

JEDDAHSaudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud and Bahraini Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa co-chaired the fourth meeting of the Security Coordination Committee, a subcommittee under the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, held at the Ministry of Interior headquarters in Jeddah.



The meeting reviewed key security issues of mutual interest, with the objective of enhancing performance and bolstering cooperation to address emerging security challenges amid regional and global developments.

Discussions highlighted several achievements, including joint efforts to curb the spread of extremist ideology among youth, strengthened cooperation in cybersecurity, the successful linking of the two nations' main operations rooms, and the completion of the first phase of initiatives facilitating citizen travel through airports.

Prince Abdulaziz emphasized that the meeting marks an important step forward in enhancing bilateral security cooperation.

He praised the progress achieved by working groups from both sides in implementing committee initiatives, noting that these efforts are crucial for promoting joint security operations and providing additional facilities and services for citizens of both countries.

Bahraini Minister Sheikh Rashid stressed that “the security of the two brotherly nations is indivisible,” reaffirming the commitment to a long-term strategic security partnership.

He lauded the qualitative progress made in previous periods across various security sectors and commended the working groups' role in advancing cooperation and coordination projects.
