RIYADH — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a phone call with Hussein Al-Sheikh, Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

They discussed developments in the Palestinian arena and explore ways to strengthen joint efforts in support of the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said.

The conversation comes amid continued Saudi diplomatic engagement to push for a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.

On Tuesday, the Saudi Cabinet stressed that regional security depends on accelerating efforts to resolve the Palestinian question in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In a separate statement before the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Saudi Arabia’s representative, Ambassador Mohammed Al-Nasser, denounced Israel’s actions in Gaza, saying it has turned the besieged enclave into "a pile of rubble."

Al-Nasser said Israel’s continued violations and defiance of court orders must be addressed, emphasizing the need for the court’s opinion to compel Tel Aviv to allow humanitarian aid into the territory.

He added that Israeli forces have created inhumane conditions in Gaza, killed over 200 UNRWA staff, and targeted the agency’s offices and warehouses.
