Saudi Arabia joins 'Statistics for the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda' group

RIYADH
— The United Nations has selected Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), as a member of the High-Level Group for Partnership, Coordination, and Capacity Building in Statistics for the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda (HLG-PCCB).

This group is one of the high-level committees operating under the United Nations framework, coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals by developing national statistical capacities and strengthening international partnerships.

Additionally, the group monitors preparations for the United Nations World Data Forum (UNWDF), develops global statistical data strategies, provides recommendations to enhance financial investments in statistical infrastructure and encourage innovation, and works towards the sustainability of statistical systems to ensure the consistent and accurate production of statistics over the long term.

Saudi Arabia’s membership supports international cooperation, enhances the exchange of expertise with member countries, and activates new partnerships with international organizations and national statistical offices worldwide. It is based on innovation, quality, and openness, while continuously promoting transparency and providing accurate statistics to support development policies in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
