MWL chief welcomes Uzbek official, hails Center’s efforts in promoting Islamic values

MAKKAH —
Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, received Dr. Firdavs Firdonovich Abdukhalikov, Chairman of the Center for Islamic Civilization under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, at the League’s headquarters in Makkah.

Dr. Al-Issa underscored the significance of the Center’s role in promoting Islamic civilization, particularly in addressing misconceptions and countering negative stereotypes about Islam.

For his part, Dr. Abdukhalikov expressed, on behalf of the Uzbek government, his pride in the MWL’s global efforts and the esteem it holds in the Muslim world and beyond.

He praised Dr. Al-Issa’s international engagement, especially his address at the United Nations marking the first International Day to Combat Islamophobia, where he represented Muslim communities at the invitation of the UN General Assembly.
