JEDDAH — French fashion icon and designer Isabel Marant’s recent collaboration with Swedish chain H&M hits stores on November 14 globally.

The collaboration has been greatly anticipated by fashion enthusiasts across the world through blogs, magazines and social media portals such as Instagram and Twitter.

"I design for everybody. Women of any age, young girls with their mothers, young grannies, and now for the first time with H&M, my male friends who have always begged me to do menswear. Usually I know by instinct what will sell well. I cannot say how, but it always happens. I have the exact same feeling with this H&M collection," she said.

The designer’s effortless bohemian side will take on a fresh perspective and a new collection for men, women and children.

This is also the first time Marant’s price range will be adjusted to the middle class diaspora.

The lower price range offers that nonchalant, Parisian rock’n’roll look Marant depicts so well.

Normally, a jacket can cost you about $2,580 or Marant sneakers can cost you up to $700, but the H&M comes as a sigh of relief or will at least be the only chance for a wider income group and middle class audience to get their hands on an Isabel Marant label.

The collection ranges from $25 to $400 and includes boots, jeans, Navajo-inspired embroidered denim, sweaters, jackets, scarves, shirts, silk tops and more. She said the collection is made up of real clothes with an attitude, and the clothes are something that she hopes the H&M audience will respond to.

H&M Times Square will be the first store worldwide to debut the Isabel Marant Pour H&M collection.

H&M has arranged for Lady Gaga to host the opening of their 42,000-square-foot Times Square flagship on the same day of the launch.

Thrilled about her collaboration and launch at H&M she said: "There’s been such enthusiasm surrounding the whole project, and the sheer passion for fashion that we share with the H&M team.

"It’s been a thrill to get out of my comfort zone and try something new – in this case, producing a compact collection on a large scale for a huge audience at a democratic price. As a designer who likes challenges but wants to dress real people in their daily lives, I could not ask for anything better."

As people plan to line up early morning to get their hands on the once in a lifetime chance, make sure you don’t miss out on that Isabel Marant label.
