RIYADH — Candy Crush Warriors of Baloi and Tubaran TM of Tubaran Marogong crushed their rivals to reach the final of the TAIDA Conference Basketball Tournament here recently.
TAIDA (Tamparan Islamic Development Association) successfully organized the tournament at the Islamic Da’awah Sport Center, 2nd Industrial City. The Maranao Community from the Philippines participated in the event.
Team Candy Crush Warriors beat Malumbay Warriors 94-78. The Warriors took control of the game in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
In the other semifinal Tubaran TM defeated Royal of Shakba 113-82. Both the teams were congratulated by the audience, headed by Philippine Embassy Officials — Consular Officer Ding Manalao and Attache Cabugatan sa Malungun Allan Manggis — besides Maranao community leaders.
In all 12 teams representing different municipalities in Mindanao, Philippines, composed of Maranao community in Riyadh, Qassim and Eastern Region took part in the tournament.
TAIDA President Shalimar Salomabao said everybody is a winner in the event as it promotes friendship and camaraderie among the Maranao OFWs in the Kingdom. — SG
