RIYADH — Thursday and Friday noon will witness the kickoff of the second round of King of the Strip Championship for drag racing in Dirab Park here. The aim of this competition is to create a competitive and safe environment for the Saudi youth who are passionate about drag racing in order to develop their skills and discover new Champions in this sport. However, the first round concluded with great success and with the participation of more than 60 racers from various regions of the Kingdom.



On the side of the championship, Let’s Go Group for modified and dancing cars, motorcycles and skate will organize a great festival and car show Friday. It will also announce the kick-off of its new drag racing team which will participate in the second round of King of the strip on the same day. Moreover, there will also be a gathering for more than 100 cars from Mustang Club of Saudi Arabia and LX Club (owners of Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ram) inside Dirab Park to announce a drag race challenge between the two teams for a distance of 400 meters at Dirab Drag Strip this month.



Captain Ziad Alrashid, who placed second in the first round of King of The Strip in the stock class, expressed his happiness with the fast development of drag racing in Riyadh and said: “The race organizing was gorgeous and all participants are working hard to develop and modify their engines in order to compete and this made the pace of enthusiasm rises significantly since all of us wants to get the King of the Strip championship title in its first version.” — SG
