JEDDAH — There comes a time in a day or in a week when you have nothing to do at all. Your homework is done, you have prepared for your tests, you have even done the chores assigned by your mom.
You are simply tired of your monotonous routine: watching the same old TV shows or cartoons, eating, drinking, sleeping, playing.
According to experts, children should be allowed to get bored because it brings out the creativity in them.
So, get your creative juices flowing and surprise your parents, siblings or friends with your artworks.
Here two simple activities that you can try on your own with materials available at home.
Bangle StandIf you have old bangles lying around that nobody wears, you can use them to make a pencil stand for your desk.
Things required
Old bangles
Glue
Cardboard
Scissors
Pencil
Method
Step 1: Collect bangles of different colors but make sure they are of the same size.
Step 2: Use a bangle to draw a circle on the cardboard piece. Cut it.
Step 3: Now stick one bangle on top of the other using the circular cardboard as the base for your pencil stand. Stick the bangles till you get a height of four inches.
That’s it. Your colorful pencil stand is ready to use.
GuitarIf you can’t buy a guitar, you can definitely make one.
Things required
Empty tissue box
Four rubber bands (colored preferably)
A sheet of colored paper
Glue
A blade or paper cutter
Kitchen paper roll
Pencil
