JEDDAH – Human body parts fell from the sky in Jeddah last Sunday, creating yet another stir on Twitter with a hashtag titled “HumanBodyFallsFromTheSky”.

Police said the parts are the remains of a person of African nationality trapped in an airplane’s wheel bay.

“Police received a telephone call at 2:30 a.m. from a witness reporting the fall of human remains at the intersection of Tadamul Al-Arabi and Al-Sahafa streets in the Mushrefa neighborhood,” Jeddah police spokesman Nawaf Al-Bouq said in a statement.

Initial indications were that the remains “fell from a plane’s landing gear,” said Bouq.

In a desperate attempt to cross borders, some people at airports climb inside the bays holding the landing gear of planes. Most of them freeze to death once the aircraft reaches cruising altitude, but some luckily survive.

On Twitter, people said they could not believe such incident would happen while others described it as a scene from an action movie.

One man tweeted that such strange incidents do not happen anywhere else in the world but Saudi Arabia.

Another woman said people should not make fun of a dead man who has a family somewhere in the world.

Others criticized recent incidents including the case of Lama Al-Rouqi, who fell in a well in Tabuk, and how the Civil Defense could not find her body until now and also the plane that had an emergency landing in Madinah.
