BAHRA Cables Co. singed a memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with French companies AREVA and EDF for the Saudi nuclear energy program of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable energy (K.A.CARE).



The MoUs was signed by Eng. Talal Idriss, CEO of Bahra Cables, and Pierre Blayau, President of Surveillance Board of AREVA, and Henri Proglio, Chairman and CEO of EDF.



Idriss said “Bahra Cables is thrilled and proud to sign this MoUs with the two French companies AREVA and EDF, which are the largest international companies specialized in designing and construction of nuclear  power plants.”



He added: “This MoUs ascertain the world-class of Bahra Cables products which meet the needs and requirements of strategic gigantic projects. The company, as well, renews its commitment to offering the best in cable industry in Saudi Arabia and worldwide through using its products in the most important projects in Saudi Arabia and the region.”



Moreover, he said “Saudi Arabia has entered a new era in renewable energy industry by the release of the Royal order for the establishment of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE), which aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the Kingdom. We are pleased to contributing to this objective which will transfer Saudi Arabia to be one of the world’s developed countries that rely on atomic energy for electricity generation, which, in return, will reduce dependence on oil as the main source of electricity and preserve it for the coming generations.”



Idriss pointed out that product of Bahra Cables Co. meets all international standards, as it always did since its inception. Bahra Cables produces various kinds of cables including high, medium and low voltage cables which are fire resistant and do not emit smoke or toxic and suffocating gases in case of electric circuit shortage. The company got a number of accreditation certificates such as KEMA, IPH, SASO, LPCB, CSA, BASEC and others for its production of power cables. – SG
