JEDDAH — Hafiz Ismail, Majid Bhatti and Shad Mohammad hit centuries as Alboroj, Mohammad Harasani Architects (MHA) and Al-Khulais came out winners in the second week matches of MoneyGram Morning League Division 1 here.
The MoneyGram sponsored Cricket Ke Badshah T20 Tournament is being conducted under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Centre and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association.
In the opening match the young talented Alboroj cricketers beat Saliheen by 3 wickets. Saliheen batted first and was bundled out for 160 runs. Alboroj scored 161 for the loss of 7 wickets. For Saliheen Irfan (36) and Owais (24) provided a sound start. Atif added 28, while Naeem managed 26 and Naseer 16. Osman wrecked the batting of Saliheen by claiming 4-30. Abdul Karim claimed 3-19.
In reply, Alboroj scored the required runs in 18.5 overs. Osman and Jamshaid hit 21 and 19, respectively. Ayaz and Abdul Karim added 30 and 33, respectively. Alboroj was home in the 19th over. Sufian and Anis claimed 2 wickets each for 36 and 19, respectively.
In the second match of the day MHA hammered Butt Sports by 33 runs. MHA amassed 296 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Butt Sports, in reply, could score only 263. MHA captain Shad Muhammad was in form and hit 120 runs off 46 balls (10 sixes and 13 fours). Zia Ul Haque scored 78 useful runs which included 9 sixes and 6 fours. Hazrat Ali added a quick-fire 56 with 3 sixes and 7 fours. Imran Butt bagged 4-50, while Bilal and Atif claimed one each. Butt Sports lost Imran Butt without scoring. Javed Iqbal and Imran scored 77 and 57 runs, respectively. Atif added 54, while Omar remained unbeaten on 18.
Butt Sports replied with 263. Shad did the damage with the ball as well by claiming 3 wickets for 49 runs. Safdar and Riaz bagged one wicket each. In the last match of the day Al-Khulais beat Pak Young by 68 runs. Al-Khulais plundered 258-4. Majid Bhatti and Hafiz Ismail hit unbeaten centuries to enable their team to post such a high tally. Majid Bhatti hit 7 sixes and 6 fours as he hit 103. Hafiz Ismail hit 111 studded with 11 fours and 6 sixes.
In reply, Pak Young could score only 190-8. Azmat was the highest scorer for Pak Young with 76 (5x6 and 7x4). Zafar added 39, while Yahiya contributed 18 and skipper Riaz Afridi 10. Zahid, Shahid and Shakoor claimed 2 wickets each for 26, 27 and 6 runs, respectively for Al Khulais.
