What’s wrong with a girl who supports a soccer team?

One of the unwritten rules in our society is: there are certain things young men can do but young women cannot because of social restrictions and traditions. There are many examples which depict this fact. One of them is that teenage girls and young women should not support any soccer team or any sports team for that matter. Why? Because sports is only for men. Society still frowns upon female fans of a soccer team.

Frankly speaking, I don’t know on what basis the detractors have to come up with such traditions that prevent girls and young women from expressing their love for a certain soccer team. I believe the detractors are trying to stifle women’s freedom to do that.

Some wives hide their secret love for their soccer team from their husbands. They fear that they would lose their husbands if the latter know about their love for soccer.

Despite the above, more young girls and women are talking publicly and on social media websites about their love and support for a certain team. They no longer feel that they have to conceal their feelings because they know there are no justifiable or logical reasons to do that. They are entitled as men to watch and support sports teams.
