HAIL — The Health Affairs Directorate in Hail has imposed a travel ban on a doctor after a young woman died at King Khalid Hospital, according to spokesman Majid Al-Maeeli. The deceased’s family accused the doctor of committing a medical error while performing a cholecystectomy, or removal of the gallbladder. The patient went into a coma following the procedure and died later. Health Affairs formed a committee to investigate the case. Al-Maeeli said the doctor would face penalties if the investigation found him guilty of malpractice.
