JEDDAH — Handwriting is an important skill for both children and adults alike. In today’s era of technology, the primary art of handwriting is lost.
With ample amount of time spent on playing games on Ipads and tablets, children seldom spend time improving their handwriting.
Earlier children like you would at least write one page to make their handwriting not only legible but also beautiful.
A good handwriting can also win you a lot of appraisal from not only your teachers but your friends too. Don’t you just love when a teacher marks your paper with “Good” or “Excellent” and sometimes a sticker for your neat work.
A good handwriting speaks volumes about a person’s personality, according to analysts.
Practicing the art of handwriting is also a great way to undo negative personality traits.
Here are few tips to improve your handwriting to get three stars from your teacher.
• Lines are your friends: They help your written words from falling. A line guides you to create letters of the right size. Make sure that capital letters (e.g. A) are stretch from top line to the bottom line, whereas you lowercase letters (e.g. a) should be half the size of capital letter.
• Observe how you hold your pencil: You must hold it just before the nib to the base of your thumb along with index and middle fingers. Grasping a pencil or pen the correct way will make it easier to write.
• Write slowly and focus on every word: If you are writing fast you might make mistakes and spoil your writing on the way.
• Write letters to your friends or your mother telling her how much you love her. Make a journal to fill in daily activity. The more you write the more better your handwriting will become.
• Play games with pen/pencils: Play Hangman, scrabble or guess the word games.
There are a lot of books available here which offer great handwriting practice.
