HAIL — A survey by the women and children center of the high commission for the development of Hail showed that the lack of women employees in government departments is due to the dominance of men in these bodies, Al-Watan daily reported.



The center's supervisors have documented 13 government bodies that have not yet set up departments to provide services to women in the Hail region. This is causing many women to travel to other areas to conduct their business at available women's departments.



The ministries of labor, commerce, social affairs, posts, culture, justice, finance, and agriculture have not yet implemented the Council of Ministers directive No. 21, which was issued nearly 10 years ago.



The directive calls for setting up of separate sections and departments in government bodies to offer services to women.



The center claims that the lack of women departments in these bodies has resulted in the closure of many small businesses.



"The bureaucracy in some of these government departments has stalled many projects and several businesswomen had to travel to Riyadh and other cities to complete procedures required to obtain licenses for their projects," the center said.
