JEDDAH – Ibrahim Al Shemimry, the CEO of Jeddah-headquartered Munch Bakery, has been ranked number six among top 60 inspiring and innovative individuals in business across Saudi Arabia by Forbes Middle East in its 2013 annual report titled “Leaders Inspiring A Kingdom in the Business World” said.

Al Shemimry landed in the sixth position for his work as a self-starter who brought Munch Bakery into a dynamic, high-impact venture.

The ranking is aimed at putting together a list of “individuals and visionary self-starters who have the power to initiate change and contribute to the Saudi Arabia of tomorrow.”

Al Shemimry exemplifies one such entrepreneur and leader who continues to inspire the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, marking the Middle East as a globally competitive economy.

Commenting on the honor, Al Shemimry said: “The essence of being an entrepreneur is identifying a need and creating a solution. We are delighted by the success we had over the last six years in meeting those needs and we look forward to continuously provide an even wider range of confectionery items for our valued customers,” adding that “we have worked relentlessly to ensure growth while maintaining quality and freshness of each and every product.”

Al Shemimry was motivated by an unmet need in the market and set out to create a trendy, hip Western bakery for those who crave mouth-watering, delectable treats. In 2008, Munch Bakery was established and quickly differentiated itself from the competition through its topnotch ingredients and rich flavors. Since then, in response to customer demand, Munch has expanded office space, opening five more branches with a state-of-the art factory, improving processes, while at the same time, continuing in research and development.

From a humble passion to bake ‘cupcakes’ and ‘cakes,’ Munch quickly progressed to a wider range of confectionery items, which include candies, tarts, cookies, muffins and macaroons. Most recently, Munch introduced beverages, such as flavored coffees, milkshakes, smoothies and ice tea, to penetrate a relevant category that compliments baked goods and confectionery. Its network of 6 branches in Jeddah and Riyadh is steadily growing, each with the same high quality standards, and with careful attention given to customer service.  — SG
