Get ready for a quick make over and ways to enhance your beauty regime. Saudi Gazette caught up with one of the most popular makeup artists in Jeddah to get you the makeover you have spent nights debating.

Inas Hammoud is a freelance makeup artist based in Jeddah known for professional and personal make up services. “I am also known for my Fashion and Artistic makeup and have worked with most of the Saudi fashion designers for their fashion shows, photo shoots, look books, and Ad campaigns.”

Still passionate about beauty, makeup, and fashion, her journey started 12 years ago. As a young fan of Fashion TV, Hammoud now runs her own makeup services, makeup workshops and provides makeup services for TV shows.

“I got my makeup certificate from Beirut and then I followed several makeup courses in Paris. I regularly attend international workshops and shows and stay up-to-date with the latest makeup trends and techniques.”

Talking about the trends in Saudi, she said the latest is the chic cat-eyes with heavy lashes. “Black eyeliner was the king. Smoky eyes in beautiful metallics. There also seemed to be no in-between when it came to lips. They were either almost bare or painted with a big bright berry, plum, or oxblood red.”

When asked what the biggest make-up blunder Saudi women make, she said it is the mismatched shade of foundation and the wrong under-eye concealer shade.

As a professional makeup artist, who has worked with popular brands at various shoots, she said MAC is her favorite. “MAC offers high quality, innovative products to meet the needs of all races and ages. Stays ahead of fashion trends and delivers trusted creativity. MAC differentiates its makeup from its competitors by offering large selections in color and texture and artistry professional quality.”

She spoke to Saudi Gazette about the significance of skin care and how it plays a role in your beauty regime.

Younger girls usually complain about oily skin and acne, Hammoud said, adding: “Usually around the age of 30 they start to appear, but we don’t see them. Maybe some fine lines here and there but nothing big. And usually it depends on your genes. The older we get, the more our skin stretches and breaks down.”

So use a face primer or moisturizer, depending on skin type but before applying foundation. According to Hammoud, a healthy lifestyle is the best way to fight breakage or deterioration of skin for women below 30. Drink lots of water, quit smoking, stop bad eating habits, prevent sun damage, exercise, hydrate the skin and get on a good skin care regimen and stick with it.

She said most of the well known brands have very good moisturizers; it depends on each person’s preference.

Hammoud described the joys of working as a make-up artist. “It is full of life, interesting events, special occasions, lifetime memories, and joyful moments. I feel like I am drawing a painting. I also enjoy enhancing the woman’s natural beauty and reflecting her unique personality. “ Prices vary depending on occasions.
