How many of us use Internet daily? Do you use Internet for learning or getting help in your homework? There are many benefits of Internet and it is a wonderful resource for kids and parents alike.

According to a study, 93 percent of all 5-15 years old kids used the Internet last year.

The study also stated that kids spent almost 6-7 hours on Internet per day.  It provides a platform to communicate with friends and far-off relatives through Facebook or other social networking websites.

Research says that 35 percent of kids, those with an active profile, use social networking sites.

Facebook and emails have helped you to stay in close contact with your friends.

You can email your best friend to bring your notebook to school the next day, exchange notes or assignments, prepare artwork, among others.

You can find a wealth of information on the Internet, but you have to research properly to make sure that you are using the correct information offered.

Through Internet, you can also play interactive games, solve puzzles and riddles when you are getting bored.

Internet is a like a solution to every problem. Isn’t it?

However, you need to keep in mind certain rules while using the Internet.

  • Some kids upload their status on Facebook telling the world that they are alone at home. It is unsafe to do so.

  • Never post your personal information on the Internet, such as home address, telephone number or your school name.

  • Do not communicate with strangers. If you get an unknown friend request, don’t accept it.

  • Keep you passwords private except from your parents. You can always trust your parents with everything.

  • Do not open ads or banners saying that you have won million dollars. They are fraud and could damage your computer.

  • Only add people as your friends if you know them in real life.

  • Do not exchange photographs with anyone especially when a stranger asks you for it.

  • Never meet with anyone who invites you over the Internet. People are not who they seem to be.

  • Do not enter contests or social group on the Internet unless your parent permits you.

  • Always ask your parents before replying to an email that asks for your personal information.

  • Set your privacy settings in a way that only your friends can see your profile. Ask help from your elders.

  • Use the Internet in the presence of your parents or elders.
