Savola sponsors Saudi career day in UK

The food company Savola sponsored the Saudi Career Day held in the United Kingdom in honor of close to 3,500 Saudi scholarship students on their graduation.

JEDDAH — The food company Savola sponsored the Saudi Career Day held in the United Kingdom in honor of close to 3,500 Saudi scholarship students on their graduation.



Saudi officials — led by Prince Mohammed Bin Nawaf Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom; Dr. Khalid Bin Muhammed Al-Anqari, Minister of Higher Education; and Dr. Faisal Bin Mohammed Al-Muhanna Abalkhail, the Cultural Attaché at the Saudi Embassy in London - praised the active participation of the Savola Group in the London Career Day.



The event was attended by more than 3,500 Saudi students and witnessed the Saudi Cultural Attaché’s celebration for the graduation of 3,477 scholarship students. 

 

In response, Dr. Abdulraouf Mannaa, CEO and Managing Director of Savola Group, said: “Our participation in such events is a key part of Savola’s commitment towards the society in which it operates, as we enhance our employment nationalization programs, thus strengthening Savola’s pioneering role in contributing towards the development of the society.”



He added: “The Group hired 54 Saudi fresh graduates as part of its management-trainee program which provides them with an intensive and specialized training over a period of 18 months. Through our management- trainee’ program, where they acquired the necessary skills and technical knowledge that qualifies them to become future leaders within the Group and its subsidiaries.



Savola continues its efforts during the year 2014 to accommodate more young Saudi candidates, as the program aims to recruit 100 fresh Saudi graduates during the current year.”



Tarik M. Ismail, Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability in Savola Group, highlighted: “Human Resource development is one of Savola’s main strategies, which emphasizes Savola’s pioneering position in the CSR (corporate social responsibility) field. We continuously work towards recruiting and developing local Saudi talent, and while the Group’s workforce accounts for more than 23,806 employees locally and internationally, qualified Saudi talent account for the majority of the leadership and executive positions.”
