Do you drink a glass of milk before going to bed, or do you make your mother run after you with a glass of milk in her hand?



You keep saying no and your mother’s answer is always “you have to drink it no matter what.”



If you drink milk then you are a very good and healthy kid. But if you are the other kind, the kind who dislikes milk then there is a problem.



Why do you think they want you to drink milk even though you dislike it so much?



Milk is rich in nutrients like proteins, fats, carbohydrates, calcium and vitamins.



This nutrient-packed drink helps you grow healthy, strong bones. Milk is also great for strong teeth and it helps prevent tooth decay and cavity.



Doctors call it the second best drink after water. If you drink a glass of milk whenever you feel tired; it helps in the recreation of the muscle energy.



A warm glass of milk before you sit for your exams or tests helps reduce stress.



It relaxes your mind and body so you can feel energetic again. An important nutrient in milk “choline” helps you sleep, learn and not to mention that it enhances one’s memory.



At least, two glass of milk per day meets your entire body requirement. If you don’t drink milk today while growing up, you are putting yourself at risk of various diseases like heart problem and weak bones.



Osteoporosis is a disease which makes bone thin and fragile due to lack of calcium in the body.



Drinking milk regularly till the age of 30 makes your bones strong and powerful, preventing osteoporosis.



People around the world drink not only cow’s milk, but milk from sheep, goat and camel too.



Cow’s milk however is the preferred choice for million of people.



Still don’t like milk?

 



  • If you don’t like regular milk, try the flavored varieties like chocolate, banana, strawberry

  • Add milk in your cereals. Nothing is better than that.

  • Heat chocolate flavored milk to make hot chocolate.

  • You can blend fresh fruits with milk to make a refreshing smoothie.

  • Mix milk and a bit of sugar in pop molds to make a cold milky popsicle.



     


There are many food products which are made by products of milk and are a healthy option.

 



  • Cheese: Add grated cheese in your Salad. Have cottage cheese or cheddar cheese on omelet, pizza, sandwich, or macroni.

  • Butter: Put it on your toast for breakfast.

  • Yoghurt: Fresh fruits and yoghurt is a very delicious combination. You can add milk to it, to make drinking yoghurt and or spread it on baked potatoes.

  • Ice-cream, custards, milkshakes, rice and bread pudding are also some food products that have a healthy quantity of milk.

A cow produces an average of 6.3 gallons of milk daily and 350,000 glasses of milk in a lifetime.



Cow’s also cater to 90 percent of earth’s milk supply.



Cows give an average of 6 and half gallons of milk per day. It makes 100 glasses of milk – enough for 33 children to have 3 glasses each day!



Milk is best for cooling your mouth after eating spicy food as it has a protein which cleans the taste buds.



Cow’s milk can make some people sick. They are called as lactose intolerant. These people can use soy milk as a substitute.



Mostly people crave for cheese more than any other food.
