Summer is at its peak in the Kingdom. The days are hot and humid and the nights are slow and warm. At times it feels like the day refuses to pass by, especially after the long exhausting month which was filled with exams just went by.
After catching up on your sleep, what do you little folks intend to do during the summer?
Well, you can watch the movies, hang out with friends, read a good book, binge on ice-creams and dine-out in your favorite restaurants.
What more? There is an ocean of summer still left behind and you are already feeling dull, bored and hot if you are not traveling.
Here are some fun ways to stay cool, joyous and productive this summer.
- Wash your dad’s car in shade: You will be helping your dad and having fun at the same time.
- Play the game of cold potato: It’s a silly game, but very refreshing. Poke a hole in a water balloon and fill it with water. Make sure it has a very small and slow leak. Toss it to your siblings or friends as the goal is to pass the balloon before it runs out of water. Play outside in the garden and not at home.
- Wear your bathing suit and be the art yourself: Use washable finger paints and brushes. Paint on one another. Unlike the original art, the best part of this project is cleaning up. Spray one another with hose or take a shower to get back your blank-canvas and start all over again.
- Host an ice-cream party: Visit the local store with your parents and buy a couple of flavors of ice-creams and other assorted toppings like crushed toasted, colorful sprinklers, chocolate, caramel syrup and other edible decorative items. Invite your friends or cousins and throw them an ice-cream party. Make them their favorite ice-cream and watch a cool movie.
- Try homemade popsicles: You can make them with any juice you can find at home and freeze it. In addition, popsicles are much better and yummy with freezing fruits such as strawberries, watermelon and grapes.
- Go to the beach often: Visit the corniche and take a dip in the water with an older sibling or parent. Collect sea shells and make a sand castle. Water Fight with your siblings! Utilize the water guns or balloons and the person who is more soaked than others will lose the fight.
- Watch cold movies: You can watch “The Ice Age,” “March of the Penguins,” “Happy Feet,” “Frozen” and many others.
- Visit amusement parks: Take the roller coaster and ferris wheel rides to feel the wind. Theme Parks like Shallal and Iceland offers chilled skating arena too.
