JEDDAH — Pakistan International School Jeddah, English Section (PISJ-ES) held a graduation ceremony for its outgoing 2014 batch at the school's Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Auditorium recently.



Pakistan Ambassador Mohammed Naeem Khan, who was the chief guest at the ceremony, distributed shields, diplomas and certificates to the graduates who wore ceremonial gowns and hoods. Students who excelled in the CIE (Cambridge International Examination) were Syed Mustafa Salam (top in Jeddah) and Fatima Mohammed Tariq (third place in Saudi). The student of the year award was presented to Minhil Saifullah and Mohammed Farhaj Naeem.



Khan said: "I am pleased to attend the graduation ceremony of PISJ. I am impressed with the quality of event, the way it is organized, performances of the students. I commend the award winners, the students, the staff and especially acting principal Imran Reza Khan for this wonderful event."



He added: "It is our duty to make sure that we train our students in such a way that they become productive and useful members of both societies. He also called on the parents to invest in the future of their children by investing in their education. As Pakistanis in Kngdom our task is important and difficult because we are members of two different societies and countries. The country  of our origin is Pakistan and the country of our resident  is Saudi Arabia."



The ambassador also told the gathering that the SMC has successfully addressed some of the issues and concerns of the parents. "I have been told that a new principal has already been selected and she would be joining in school in few week of time."



Approval has also been granted for the reduction of fees, improvements that need to be undertaken in the transportation system will in to effect from the next academic year, he said.



Consul General Pakistan Aftab Ahmed Khokher and Anila Naeem Khan graced the occasion as guests of honor. Consul Press and Link Officer Sohail Ali Khan, Acting Deputy Head of junior school Rabia Maroof Khan, School Management Committee (SMC) members Hamid Basheer, Tahir Malik, Akhtar Qureshi, Faisal Khan, Kamran Ahmed Butt, Dr. Touqir Ahmed Malik, Mohammed Azfar Ansari, parents, teachers, students and media persons were among the guest.



Imran thanked Khan for attending the event, and congratulated him on becoming the assistant secretary general in OIC. "We salute you on your services and constant support in the development of this institution."



Sohaib Khalid presented famous Punjabi poem "Bunyan" of Anwar Maqsood. Junior school's Javari Aslam recited a beautiful goodbye poem in tribute of the graduates.  The hosts of the program were Sadia Shafqat Sheikh, Farheen Altaf, Shahzar Khan, Abdul Rafah and Sohaib Khalid.



The program came to an end with the cake cutting ceremony done by Khan and his wife.
