JEDDAH — Wafaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia (WMAA) Pakistan, one of the largest federation of Islamic seminaries around the world, received the highest award for preparing maximum Huffaz (those who memorize the entire Qur’an) in the world.
This prestigious award was received by Muhammad Hanif Jalandhry, Pakistan’s scholar and general secretary of WMAA Pakistan, in the annual conference held by the International Organization for Qur’an Memorization (IOQM), a subsidiary of the World Muslim League (WML), here recently.
Jalandhry received the award from Governor of Makkah Prince Misha’al Bin Abdullah and general secretary of the Muslim World League (MWL) Dr. Abdullah Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki in the presence of secretary general of International Organization for Qur’an Memorization (IOQM)Abdullah Basfar.
Jalandhry said this award is an honor for Pakistan and the whole nation.
He congratulated the teachers and the administrative of the all WMAA affiliated schools and colleges, and appreciated their efforts.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his services to the two holy cities and Islam.
The function was attended by members of the royal family, government officials, eminent Saudi Scholars, delegations from the USA, UK, South Africa, Indonesia, UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordon. They all praised the services of WMAA and congratulated Pakistan on getting this award.
Every year WMAA Pakistan, produces 60,000 Huffaz, but this year under the auspices of WMAA, 63,556 students completed the memorization of the Qur’an including 12,000 girls.
The functions of WMAA Pakistan are the registration of seminaries, creation of syllabus, and checking the standard of education.
This year, around 2 million students have registered under the WMAA federation.
