JEDDAH — Late for Futoor?  In a hurry to whisk up something tasty for the kids? Even when you are running out of all the fancy indgredients at home, here are a few recipes you can never go wrong with. And the best part- the kids love it!

In case you are bored with the regular club sandwich or mom's stacked tuna sandwiches in your fridge, make something new and authentic. You can use bread as the core and believe us, it is the best base for a healthy meal. Replace white with brown bread for French toast. And try a household name that millions of expatriates living in the country, enjoy during Ramadan, "bread pakoda." We even have something easy for tea and light snacks at home. Just pop it into the oven and it's done.

French Toast

4 eggs

1/4 cup milk

6-8 slices of bread

4 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

In a bowl, mix everything except the bread. Cut the slices into half and in a frying pan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk together the mixture in a low plate, you can add whipped cream (1/2 cup) if you want and dip bread in the mixture. Fry slices until golden brown and serve with nutella, maple or chocolate syrup. You can even serve it with fresh fruits like berries and bananas.
