JEDDAH — The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting a program for training Saudis with high school education or less in coordination with public and private sector agencies.



The program is intended to cut down unemployment among less educated Saudis.



The three-day program offers 800 training opportunities in 20 companies.



Candidates holding high school certificates or those with less education can enroll in the program, which will give them on-the-job training for a couple of months.



The program will involve 75 percent practical training.



Muhyuddeen Hakami, an assistant to JCCI secretary-general, said the event demonstrated existing cooperation between the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, the private sector and the Human Resources Development Fund to overcome the unemployment problem.



Hakami advised Saudi job seekers with high school education or below to visit the JCCI headquarters, where potential candidates will be interviewed for three days from 8 a.m.
