DUBAI — Al-Wasl has replaced Maradona with Bruno Metsu a week after the Dubai club fired the Argentine great a year before his contract ended. Al-Wasl media office says Metsu signed a two-year contract Tuesday and is joining the team next week. Financial terms of the contract were not revealed. Maradona was ousted from the club because of its poor performance. Al-Wasl finished eighth in the 12-team league last season. The temperamental Argentine brought much-needed attention to the United Arab Emirates league, but was unable to turn around the Dubai club. — AFP
