JEDDAH — Favorites MHA and Pak Young will lock horns in the final of the Jotun League Morning League which is sponsored by Jotun Saudi Arabia and organized by JCA.
In the semifinals MHA and Pak Young scored an identical 6-wicket win over their respective opponents Al-Khulais and Reel & Rom.
MHA beat Al-Khulais by 6 wickets. Al-Khulais, batting first, was bundled out for 171. Adnan 35 off 11 balls with 8 fours and Zahoor 25 off 10 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes were the only batsmen who batted with authority.
Butt, Irshad and Ashfaq added 17 each. Zia was the most dangerous bowler with figures of 4-13, while Zakir and Riaz chipped in with 2 wickets each for 24 and 6 runs, respectively.
In reply, MHA raced to victory scoring 172 for the loss of 4 wickets. Abdul Wahid played a scintillating innings of 97 off 29 (8 fours and 10 sixes). Khalid added 45 off 26 balls.
Asghar bowled well to bag 2-4 and Ateeq took 1-25 as MHA romped home by 6 wickets to enter its second consecutive final of the year.
Pak Young beat Reel & Rom by 6 wickets. Reel & Rom put on 218 for 5 wickets. Afridi scored 113 off 53 balls packed with 10 fours and 5 sixes. Waqas 32 (4 fours) and Irfan 29 (4 fours) were the other notable contributors. Fazal Khattak, Yasir, Zain Afridi and Tahir had a wicket each for 37, 46, 32, 52 and 17 runs, respectively.
Pak Young, in reply, made short work of the total as it comfortably overhauled the target of 220-4. Tahir gave it a solid start as he compiled a quick-fire 75 off 35 balls with 13 fours and a six. Zafar 42 off 23 balls (2 fours, 3 sixes), Azmat 23 (3 fours and a 1 six), Manzar 29 off 17 balls (2 fours, 1 six) and Yahiya 20 off 10 balls (2 fours and 1 six) were the others among the runs.
Earlier, in the 12th week match MHA beat KAIA by 3 wickets. KAIA put on 170 runs. Ahsan hit 90 off 47 balls. Bilal with 11 was the only other batsman to reach double figures. Zia took 4-22, while Usman had 2-3. MHA, in reply, reached its target of 171 for 7 wickets and won the match by three wickets. Shad Mohammad Khan scored 31, Abdul Rahman 25 and Sajid 35. Majid took 2-29 and Goshi 2-29.
