JEDDAH — My Care Hala, AOT and Hala Friends came out on top in the third week matches of the WPCA Premier League tournament here recently.



Hyundai, MBCC, Marine Services, AOT Youngsters, MCH Green and Nestle Milo, meanwhile, won their respective encounters in the WPCA Afternoon tourney.



Premier League



My Care Hala downed Pepsi Deccan Knights by 69 runs. MCH racked up 203-6 as Kashif Shafeeq scored 64 and Babar Hussain 46 — the two adding 113 runs. Mohammed Amjed remained unbeaten on 48. Sohail took 2-24, Enayatullah 2-25 and Rabbani one. Pepsi Deccan Knights, in reply, was bowled out for 134 as Abdulquddus Ather hit 67 and Sajjad 23 not out. Adnan claimed 5-11 off his four overs as Mohammed Tayyab had 2-25 while Jameel, Tariq and Jaffar bagged a wicket each.



Hala Friends thrashed Al-Ghamdi Cricket Stars by 9 wickets. Al-Ghamdi was bundled out for 125 as Pervez contributed 31, Aftab 24 and Mustafa 21. Ali claimed 3-16, Mukhtar 2-22, Wajahat Shah 2-24, Zeeshan 2-13 and Saleem one. Hala Friends reached the target of 131 off 56 balls for the loss of one wicket. Hassan Malik and Zahid remained unbeaten on 61 and 43, respectively. Mustafa took the only wicket to fall.



AOT humbled Crown Steel by 40 runs. AOT piled up 174-9 with Faisal Mehmood making 30, Akram 25 and Hisham 24. Ijaz Sagheer took 3-29, Javed Iqbal 2-26, while Shoaib Ali and Waqas bagged a wicket each. Crown Steel, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals to be bowled out for 134. Imran made 27 and Zaheer Sulehri 28. Faisal Iqbal scalped 3-21, Hisham 2-20, Akram 2-25, while Zeeshan and Nasir Iqbal bagged one each.



In the previous week’s action: My Care Hala beat Dopco Stars by 85 runs; Lothers went down to AOT by 102 runs; and Crown Steel downed IDB by 41 runs.



Afternoon League



Hyundai downed APF by 62 runs. Hyundai produced 171-7. Irshad hit 43 and Irfan Ayazuddin 39 as the two added 58 runs. Ahmed remained unbeaten on 20. Maqsood took 5-36. APF, in chase, was restricted to 109. Maqsood scored 32, Murtuza 22 and Hasanat 21. Irfan Ayazuddin grabbed 4-25 and Ishaq 2-28.



Al-Safri lost to AOT Youngsters by 2 wickets. Al-Safri was bowled out for 156 as Manjeet Kumar hit 41, Rehan 40 and Saeed Ahmed 24. Pervez Baig bowled intelligently to take 5-12 as he reduced Al-Safri from 143-4 to 150-9 in one over. Salman helped him with 2-49. AOT Youngsters were home (158 for 8) on the last ball as Nadeem scored 33, Nauman 26 and Salman hit the winning shot to remain unbeaten on 42. Zafar claimed 3-33, Javed 2-31 and Muneeb 2-36.



My Care Hala Green trounced Fuchs Alhamrani by 38 runs. MCH Green plundered 251 for 6 as Azhar blasted 113 studded with 16 fours and 4 sixes. He added 113 runs with Salman (30) for the opening wicket. Noor Butt remained unbeaten on 44. Nasir Khan and Mansoor picked 2 wickets each. Fuchs, in reply, could manage only 213 for 7. Khoban made 35, Saqib 35 not out, Irfan 32 and Ali 20. Azhar and Salman scalped 2 wickets each.



MBCC playing its maiden match defeated Thales Group by 4 wickets. Thales posted 151-5 as opener Waqas hammered an unbeaten 86 off 56 balls and Aziz 27. Razzaq had 3-34. MBCC reached 155 for 6 as Rana Haroon compiled 41, Rashid 32 and Usman remained 28 not out. Amjad Iqbal took 3-26 and Ali 2-31.



Nestle Milo humbled Jotun Paints by 4 runs. Nestle Milo produced 168-4 with Aijaz Butt scoring 39, Bilal 36, Azeem 30 and Imran 24. Jotun Paints replied with 164 for 3 as Imran Iqbal remained unbeaten on 27 and Sajid hit 34. Irfan took 2-22.



In last week’s encounters: AMI Juffali beat Pak Eagles by 79 runs; Hala Academy White trounced Elaf Advance by 50 runs; Hala International School humbled Hala Academy Blue by 79 runs; Zultrack went down to Al-Mabani by 9 wickets; and Debutant Adil Taasan Est edged Azizya Elegant by 2 runs.
