JEDDAH – The General Administration for Licenses and Monitoring Markets in Jeddah Municipality in cooperation with Jeddah Police destroyed five tons of meat in a meat shop belonging to one of the commercial establishments on Al-Shurbatly Street in Jeddah’s Al-Safa district. Director General of Licenses and Market Supervision Dr. Bashir Abu Najm said the general administration destroyed quantities of meat after discovering secret passages leading to cold stores in the rear of the shop where they stored expired meat and rotten offals imported from other countries. They used artificial colors and stamped the meat with false stamps and placed new importing data with new dates for the rotten carcasses, SPA reported Wednesday.
