For the adrenaline junkies, who seek more than just mediocrity now have the best companion to shoot underwater action with. Canon has been producing underwater cameras for a few years now, but this light weight champ seems just right to gift the younger generation of photography enthusiasts or even take along to the your Seychelles trip. The trendy D30 concept was developed for sports that may involve water or outdoor activities, severe weather conditions or low-light conditions. It can handle temperatures of -10 °C, shockproof for drops of up to 2.0m with waterproof and dustproof qualities ideal for trekking and submerged adventures you can also record. Basically, it removes the strain your smartphones and selfies sticks can’t take.

Saudi Gazette spoke with Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director at Canon Middle East who said the D30 is the improved successor of the previously launched D20, now more robust in design and can go as deep as 25 meters whereas the D20 could only go as deep as 10m.

“The PowerShot D30 utilises a 12.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor and a 28mm wide-angle, 5x zoom Canon lens, helping you capture the beauty of the sea in amazing detail.” He said the point-and-shoot camera uses an Optical Image Stabilizer to deliver crisp and clear shots and includes Intelligent IS technology that automatically applies the most suitable form of stabilisation for a range of scenes and settings.

The PowerShot D30 has a dedicated GPS unit via Mobile mode works with your smartphone making it easier to tag locations that you can later share on social media with friends.

“You can then quickly and easily share your new location discoveries with friends and family using the supplied Map Utility software as well as via Google Earth.  The PowerShot D30’s low energy consumption GPS logger can also track your path as you shoot every new discovery.”

Mind you, only in blue, the camera is now available all around the Middle East.
