• Prince is ready to release two brand new records on September 30. ‘Plectrumelectrum’ with the group 3rdEyeGirl and his recently announced solo LP ‘Art Official Age’ is also available for pre-orders on ww.ArtOfficialAge.com.
• Brooklyn rapper Theophilus London will release his new album ‘Vibes’ on October 28. He is lucky enough to have Kanye West serve as an executive producer (and featured) on “Can’t Stop,” and have legendary Karl Lagerfeld design his artwork.
• Apple and U2 have released their first album ‘Songs of Innocence’ in five years for free to over 500 million iTunes consumers worldwide.The rock band performed a new single The Miracle (of Joey Ramone) live at the end of Apple’s product announcement event in California.
• Damien Rice has announced a new album ‘My Favorite Faded Fantasy’ made with producer Rick Rubin. His first in eight years, the album will be released on November 11.
• David Bowie is set to release new music later this year marking 50 years of his career. New song “Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)” will be released on November 17. Bowie made a comeback last year with ‘The Next Day’ after 10 years.
• James Murphy has released 400 hours worth of new music inspired by tennis matches. Yes, that’s right, he’s recorded and produced music from the data of tennis matches. The remixes are available on SoundCloud. Each piece is categorized by number and round, and co-sponsors IBM, have added details for a few of Murphy’s most favorite production pieces.
• British singer Sam Smith released ‘I’m Not The Only One’ with a twist and feature with rapper A$AP Rocky.
• Radiohead fans were overjoyed when the band’s PolyFauna app—released in February, using music and visuals from their 2011 album The King of Limb, released new music from the band in three years this month.
• Adele’s new album, supposedly called ‘25’ is rumored to be released in November.
• Eight years after its original release, electronic music legends Daft Punk have released a digital version of ‘Human After All’ remix album. The album was released exclusively in Japan earlier but is now available worldwide even though a limited edition of the remix album was originally released in 2006.
• Pink Floyd will also be unveiling their first studio album in 20 years, ‘The Endless River in October’. The official statements have disclosed release dates and the nature of the album, which is mainly ambient and instrumental based on the 1993/4 Division Bell sessions, which feature David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright.
