Seminar on legal rights awareness starts Sunday

In collaboration with Makkah Social Affairs, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) is organizing a two-day seminar to shed light on the issues of domestic violence and cyber crimes at JCCI’s Sheikh Ismail Abu Dawood Hall from Sunday (Sept. 21).

JEDDAH — In collaboration with Makkah Social Affairs, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) is organizing a two-day seminar to shed light on the issues of domestic violence and cyber crimes at JCCI’s Sheikh Ismail Abu Dawood Hall from Sunday (Sept. 21).



Lawyer and legal adviser Khaled Abu Rashid will address vital topics affecting Saudi society.



The first day of session will highlight the issues of khula (petitioning for a divorce without the husband’s consent), child custody affairs, domestic violence and protection system against abuse.



Specialists from the Ministry of Social Affairs in Makkah will also address some cases and the process used to deal with them.



The second day of the session will highlight the issues of communication and the system to tackle cyber crimes.



Rashid said the aim of the session is to spread awareness about the rights people have in society and shed light on the latest developments in judicial proceedings.



He thanked Abu Rashid Abdullah Al-Tawi, director general of Makkah Social Affairs and JCCI for hosting the event.
