JEDDAH — A four-day exhibition of Saudi productive families concluded at the Jeddah’s Tahilia business center on Sunday. Around 50 female representatives from the Saudi productive families gathered in order to support the emerging home-based businesses and to aid them in achieving financial independence and securing a steady income for themselves.
Nermin Aied, a cupcake stall owner, said: “I am happy to exhibit my products over here. I am feeling confident and I want our youth to participate in these kind of activities. This is helpful as it will expand grow business, in addition to advertising on social networking sites.
She thanked Nora Saheli, supervisor of women's section of the Society of handicrafts, and Magda Babrook, a Jeddah-based businesswoman, for inviting her to the exhibition. Babrook, who is also the director of Al Wakn establishment for events and conferences, said: “Productive families represent an important segment of society.
They need support, and we believe to support Saudi women’s economic development activities and to create ways to aid them in achieving financial independence and securing a steady income for themselves by providing suitable job opportunities.”
The success of the productive families will also have a positive impact in boosting the Saudi economy and enriching local businesses According to Babrook, the main objective of the event is focused on supporting and marketing productive families and national talent.
“Small business corner aims to spread the culture of selling to the young generation and instill the concept of first-class financial awareness and motivate children to the processes of buying and selling,” she said.
