Ballet to cure the Mexico City traffic blues
MEXICO CITY - Remedios Rosas was walking down a Mexico City street Saturday when she saw seven tutu-clad dancers tiptoe to the sidewalk, their chins held high, and join pedestrians waiting to cross the road. When the light changed, music started and the dancers leaped into the street, twirling and twisting in front of surprised drivers. The 58-second show - the duration of a Mexico City traffic light - is part of a theater company's attempt to brighten the days of motorists at snarled intersections in this sprawling megalopolis notorious for its clogged roadways. Rosas ran home and brought back her two grandchildren to enjoy the street performances, which featured music ranging from ballet classics like Swan Lake and the Nutcracker to Michael Jackson's Rock With Me. The idea of the...

China 'waterfall' skyscraper hit by torrent of ridicule
BEIJING - A skyscraper in southwest China that boasts what its owner calls the world's largest man-made waterfall has become the latest example of over-the-top architecture to draw national ridicule. The tower in the city of Guiyang was built with a spectacular 108-meter (350-feet) cascade tumbling down its face - but cash flow could prove a problem for the ostentatious design. Although the Liebian International Building is not yet finished, the water feature was completed two years ago. However it has only been turned on six times, with the owners blaming the high cost - 800 yuan ($120) per hour - of pumping water to the top of the 121-meter-high structure. Constructed by the Ludi Industry Group, the building will house a shopping mall, offices and a luxury hotel. Its signature...

Day Out: Exbury Gardens
Spending time with family is the way I enjoy marking a significant birthday. And for this milestone occasion we make our way to Exbury Gardens deep in the New Forest. It has been persistently raining for the past week and it really is risky deciding to spend an entire day out with such questionable weather. The sky continues to be grey and threatening but we are blessed with absolutely no rain whatsoever during our trip.Exbury boasts 200-acres of informal woodland gardens and it allows my wife Caroline and I to sort of relax while the children roam. But you can never truly relax. They seem incapable of sticking to the paths and much prefers stamping in puddles off the beaten track which results in Henry, 2-years-old, quickly shouting: “Help!” He is in water that is almost covering his...

Summer Beauty Trends
Saudi GazetteFrom Rihanna’s body lava to bringing out that inner glow, there’s a lot to discover about make up trends this summer. We tried Sephora’s popular range to begin with.• Fenty Beauty- Match Stix SkinstickThe magnetized makeup sticks comes in both matte and shimmer. If you’re using it for contouring, make sure it suits your skin type. If you have oily skin, avoid this and go for powder when contouring. It doesn’t help much in the scorching heat during the day, but is great for a night-out. The ink liner is easy to use for those on the go but it is not made for the strong, dark and dramatic look. Kat Von D's Shade +...
