SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates — Ruler of Sharjah Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has issued a new directive to exempt all publishing houses exhibiting at the ongoing Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2020) from paying stand rental fees in a move that helps mitigate the economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. Valued at 6 million, these exemptions that follow Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi’s directive, are in line with Sharjah’s ongoing efforts to support and promote all the publishing houses. KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait registered on Monday 735 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, an increase of 197 infections as compared to Sunday's figure of 538, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health carried by state news agency KUNA.The ministry also announced that five more patients died due to complications caused by the deadly virus.This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 132,478 and virus-related fatalities to 816.According to the ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, there are currently 8,348 active cases in the country out of which 120 are receiving treatment in intensive care units.A total of 5,658 tests were conducted over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 examinations in the country so far to 971,488,...
