JEDDAH - Qusai, the Saudi rapper and entertainer famous for his songs that combine Arabic folklore with hip-hop beats, recently launched a new album titled “Saudi” that covers social issues. The announcement was made at the finale of the reality TV talent show Arabs Got Talent in which he hosted on MBC.

The main song “Saudi” will be released Sept. 23 on the occasion of the Saudi Arabian National Day.

The new album features songs with meaningful messages to the public. Songs include “The Teacher” about the respect of teachers, “The Entrepreneur” that promotes youth to turn their passion into business, and “Ittihad” commemorating the Jeddah-based football club.

The album also includes the song “Bilal” based on the historical Islamic figure featured in the first Saudi animated movie last year. The rapper played the voice of one of the main characters in the film.

Qusai’s previous hits covered family, social issues, and everyday life in modern Saudi Arabia in both English and Arabic using a mix of folklore and Western music.
