Information Ministry launches ‘Center for International Communication’

JEDDAH — The Ministry of Culture and Information announced the launching of the Center for International Communication (CIC) and its account on the Twitter platform, in a step aiming at boosting relations with the international media and following a more open policy towards the international audience, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Saturday night.
The center will bolster global communication in the information field, aside from promoting the ministry’s programs for international communication and its initiatives.
The CIC is to be a link between the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information and all the regional and international mass media and various research centers and cultural institutions.
The center will periodically transmit authenticated information and data on the events and humanitarian works and services that are being carried out by the Kingdom. These will be in several languages, most important of which are English, French and German.
The ministry has established the center within its information plan that aims to boost communication with the external media so as to portray the Kingdom’s image and its accomplishments in culture and development.
The objective is also to shed light on the growth and development the Kingdom is witnessing within the area of implementing the Vision 2030.
The launching of the center coincides with the beginning of the Haj season. This will contribute to supporting its information plan in shedding light on the biggest event in the Muslim world and contribute to disseminating the data, reports and news stories on the Haj rites.
Furthermore, it will highlight the Kingdom’s efforts in preparing for the Haj season and the services it provides to the pilgrims.
