RIYADH — Saudi National Day was celebrated with zest at Al Yasmin International School, Riyadh, KSA. The students of both boys and girls’ sections participated wholeheartedly and enthusiastically.
The school was decorated in green and white flags and buntings, and banners fluttered in the air, giving the entire premises a festive air.
Different activities like, pencil shading, coloring, fruit carving, Power Point presentations and collage work using clay were held throughout the week.
A special assembly was conducted. The program commenced with an invoking recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an. Students delivered speeches marking the occasion and expressing their love for the country.
Traditional dance of Saudi Arabia was performed by students. Later at the closing stage K. Rahamathullah, principal Al Yasmin International School, congratulated and appreciated the effort put in by the students.
He enlightened the students with his words about the importance of the day with a special reverence for Saudi Arabia as the birthplace of Islam and also for being the backbone of all Arab countries around the world.
The assembly came to an end with the rendition of Saudi National Anthem followed by the Indian National Anthem. The celebration gave the students an opportunity to learn the history, culture and traditions of the Kingdom. — SG
