Written and directed by Shoaib Mansoor, ‘Verna’ will release worldwide on November 17. Featuring Mahira Khan and Haroon Shahid in lead roles, the movie deals with rape, society and power. “I have chained all my three films together since all deal with women empowerment “Khuda ke Liye Bol Verna”. I sincerely hope it will not only spark off the process of shifting people’s patriarchal mindsets but will rejuvenate the movement against this crime. Most of all I hope that it will at least make women reflect that rape does not rob them of ‘honor’, it is something they earn and no one can snatch away from them,” Shoaib Mansoor said.

Aamir Khan, Zaira Wasim’s ‘Secret Superstar’ mints $2.8 million in overseas markets.In ‘Secret Superstar’, Zaira Wasim, who hails from Kashmir, plays a teenage girl named Insia who dreams of becoming a singer. The film is about how she fulfills her dreams by keeping her identity hidden. Made on a budget of Rs 15 million including the cost of production and prints and publicity, ‘Secret Superstar’ released on Diwali on October 19. After crossing the Rs.50 million mark, the movie has been seeing stable weekdays at the box office.

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ is the 17th straight number one opening for Marvel. That makes “Ragnarok” the fourth-largest opening of the year in the U.S. It is also by far the biggest opening for the character, which has never really had the popularity or box office might of other Marvel heroes like Iron Man and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Baahubali fans may soon take a trip to Hyderabad for a behind-the-scenes tour of Mahishmathi. The grand sets of Baahubali, which had been constructed on a budget of a whopping sum of Rs. 60 million for both films, has been retained and reserved by Ramoji Film City and is open for tourists to drop by.

Rohit Shetty’s multi-starrer comedy Golmaal Again has reportedly broken box office records to become the highest grossing film of 2017. The film stars the original gang comprising of Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade and Arshad Warsi along with new additions — Parineeti Chopra and Tabu. According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film’s domestic collections are currently at Rs. 184.97 million.

Tiger Zinda Hai trailer starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif has taken over social media. Salman Khan shared the trailer on Twitter and said: “The time has come. Tiger is ready to roar.” The trailer got over 1.2 million views in nearly four hours. In Ek Tha Tiger 2012, Tiger played by Salman Khan, an Indian spy, and Zoya portrayed by Katrina Kaif, a Pakistani spy, was against each other but this time they have a common enemy to fight. The film is fictionalized retelling of a real life incident where 25 Indian nurses were kidnapped in Iraq in 2015. How Tiger and Zoya rescue those nurses and of course beat their government’s tactics to capture them forms the film’s plot.

Directed by Oscar winner Alex Gibney and Emmy winner Blair Foster, the film “Rolling Stone: Stories From the Edge” chronicles the magazine’s history in a documentary. It includes artists like John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen and Chance The Rapper, while also intertwining interviews and clippings of articles from the magazine. The documentary examines the history of the premiere magazine of American “counterculture” through a prism of 50 years of music, politics and pop culture, with performances by iconic artists, news footage and interviews with writers, recording artists and others. Rolling Stone: Stories From the Edge is a four-hour documentary that was aired over two evenings last week on HBO.
