ABHA – Baboons attack the girls of Al-Qarha Village on a daily basis, causing fear and terror among 153 students and teachers. Although the school administration has called upon authorities to find a solution to this problem, no action has been taken to stop the baboons. Sometimes, the baboons can be seen inside classrooms causing fear among young students.

Parents described the situation as dangerous, especially after seeing baboons climbing the walls of the school and jumping off inside. The school had to suspend work several times and send girls back home, an action which affected their studies. They called upon authorities to build taller walls of steel so that the monkey cannot climb them.

Parents are angry because the pertinent educational administration has not taken any action to protect and save the lives of their daughters, warning that if no action was taken, the situation will exasperate and catastrophic results might happen.

They said monkeys can be seen almost everyday near and inside the schools and sometimes inside the classrooms. These monkeys could be sick and could transmit contagious diseases. Also, they are hostile and dangerous. They should be stopped so that girls can focus on their study, parents said.
