Gulbarga Charitable & Welfare Trust Riyadh chapter launched

RIYADH — Indian expatriates from Gulbarga launched a new chapter at Riyadh with a commitment to help poor and needy people in their hometown.

The President of Gulbarga Charitable and Welfare Trust (GCWT) Jeddah Chapter Syed Nasir Khursheed attended the event as the chief guest and inaugurated the new chapter while Mohammed Imdad Ali, president GCWT Riyadh Chapter, anchored and presided over the function.

Sadat Ali, IT manager and Dr. Sayeed Mohiuddin, president NRI Forum Riyadh, both prominent social workers of Riyadh attended event as guests of honor. Other dignitaries who shared the dais were Khadeer Khaleefa, senior banker, Abdul Majeed Badruddin CEO UIC and Shaikh Nooruddin, purchasing manager, Arabian Plastic Co.

The program started with recitation of verses from the Qur’an by Younus Khasdar while naat was recited by Mubeen Mulla. Bouquets were presented to all the dignitaries

Md Muqtar Jagirdar delivered the welcome speech and Mirza Abdul Khader Baig highlighted the Aims and Objectives of GCWT.

Syed Nasir Khursheed congratulated Mohammed Imdad Ali and the entire team of GCWT Riyadh chapter for taking the initiative to form a chapter in Riyadh to help poor and needy people back home in Gulbarga, in India. He said this trust was established in 2007 in Jeddah with the help of few members and now it has spread its wings around Kingdom having its chapters in Rabigh under leadership of Aslam Sayeed and Meraj Ahmed in the Eastern Province.

He thanked Mirza Azam Baig, president GCWT Gulbarga, Layeeq Farooqui, treasurer, and entire team in Gulbarga for helping poor residents through the trust. He said the mission of the GCWT is development of underprivileged section of the society regardless of caste, creed religion and gender, its aim is to change lives of such underprivileged people of our society by providing financial assistance in the field of education health, marriages, self-employment and vocational training.

He said inshaAllah the Riyadh chapter would lead all chapters of Kingdom as it is in the capital and members here have shown zeal, passion, commitment, enthusiasm and all are highly qualified.

He congratulated the team of Riyadh chapter, President Mohammed Imdad Ali, Vice President Md. Muqtar Jagirdar, General Secretary Syed Azharuddin, Joint Secretary Mirza Abdul Khader Baig, Treasurer Nawaz Ahmed, Coordinator Md. Talha, for taking this responsibility to help the poor and needy people back home in Gulbarga.

Dr Sayeed Mohiuddin congratulated the new team and assured his support whenever required. Sadat Ali said it is great pleasure for all of us to have a NGO for the people of Gulbarga.

Md Imdad Ali, president of Riyadh chapter, described GCWT as a non-profitable, non-religious and nonpolitical organization working purely as a social organization to help the poor and needy people irrespective of religion within Gulbarga.

He explained how the trust functioned, and motivated the members to come forward and played a vital role in helping those in need. He said, “Our commitment for helping poor and needy persons in Gulbarga will be energized now onward as I am seeing enthusiasm in all the attendees.”

He stressed the importance of education in the life of a Muslims and how the community is lagging behind without education. He emphasized on generating employment and developing technical skills in youth by sharing our knowledge and experience with youth.

Md. Badruddin, UIC managing director, also attend the event. He highlighted the importance of civil services. He encouraged and appealed the audience to uplift the society in civil services jobs in India.

Shaikh Nooruddin emphasized the importance of charity in Islam, and in his speech stressed the importance of social platform and individual effort to make a difference for the society. He congratulated the GCWT team for taking the initiative. He requested all to extend their support to strengthen GCWT Riyadh chapter for the people of Gulbarga.

Khadeer Khaleefa congratulated the new team of Riyadh and requested them to work with spirit and elevate the trust to a higher level.

Md Azhar delivered the vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude the dignitaries and all those who spared valuable time and attended the event. He thanked the executive team members for their efforts in providing good logistic support to successfully organize this event. — SG
