ABHA — An amusement park in Abha, has been attracting more than 1,500 visitors every day since the beginning of summer.

Saleh Qadah, director of the National Company for Tourism, expected more visitors to come to the park, in the coming days to participate in the summer festival titled "Abha Brings Us Together".

Qadah said the activities, topped by the "light and sound" show, will continue for about 70 days.

He said the visitors were extremely fond of the fireworks, which are being presented by a specialized Chinese company.

"The fireworks have been a symbol of the summer activities for many years and that a large number of the residents and visitors are attracted to them," he said.

Qadah said the proceeds from the shows would go to the poor and needy students of King Khalid University in Abha.

Meanwhile, the deanship of students affairs in the university established a special clinic to help smokers give up the habit.

Abdullah Al-Odaid, dean of the students' affairs, said the clinic would remain open for a week before it would move to another major street for two weeks.

The clinic remains open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. every day and will receive young men and women who want to give up smoking.
